November 26, 2023 - These are better with more exposure to air. Petrol nose blows off to show peach, lime, and passionfruit, with crushed stones giving texture and lift. Spritely, but has depth and structure balancing out the energy.

October 12, 2023 - Pithy and racy with oodles of lime and peach. Feels somewhere inbetween the Nahe and Clare Valley. Emerging petrol, pinging acid.

June 28, 2019 - Cool mineral nose with limes, apples and an interesting sage note. Palate is crisp, medium bodied and medium length. Nice wine and drinking quite well already. A bit of alcohol on the end pokes out which detracts a bit.

March 28, 2019 - Liked this lively Otago Riesling. Drinking well already. Not overly Dry, despite FR’s claim to be. Would buy again. Very good, but not outstanding.

    C...pale green

N....medium intensity only; some petro/Kerosene; greengages.

T....solid medium body, well-made taut Riesling that’s not fully mature but drinking very well anyway, impressive swirling acidity with classy fruit too. Pineapple slices drizzled with lemon/lime juice. Fell slightly short of my expectations founded on FR’s rep. Slightly. Still a very good NZ Riesling. Some lifted essence at end, some wet river stone minerals too.

VFM? I probably prefer Framingham Classic from Marlborough, which is cheaper too. And Pegasus Bay do a ‘Dry’ Riesling from North Canterbury which although Dry is slightly richer/fuller. Probably a style preference, if I’m honest.

February 16, 2017 - Acid Haus (Art & Design House, Wiliam Street): orchard fruit, wet stone, meaty wild ferment notes on the nose…more fleshy and juicy than zesty with orchard fruit, a touch of front of mouth grip and an almost peppery spice to the finish.

October 5, 2016 - Very dry. Apple and camomile nose. Young and sharp at the moment, this needs 2-3yrs and signs of richness with air. Will likely be 1-2pts better with time. 89+pts
