  March 16, 2023 - The 2015 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese*** White capsule is concentrated, filigreed and complex. The wine starts off quite ripe, lead by honeyed tropical fruits and diesel, that quickly fades revealing petrol, flowers, nectarine, blueberry, red grapefruit, lemon juice, pomelo and Clementine. The palate is chiseled, precise, mineral driven with acidic tension and incredible length. Continued to improve over 2 hours. A superb dry Riesling. 25+

  November 13, 2022 - Mid-gold in glass. Light petrol and strong mineral smell on nose, same on palate. Palate has mint, hint of stonefruit, too, but is overwhelmingly mineral with a good kick of acidity. This needs more time, but when it blossoms it will be quite impressive.

  Luminous lemony yellow color. Very sweet, rich and intense nose with rich and complex aromas of ripe apples, some sweet peach, a little bit of lemon marmalade, a hint of stony minerality and a touch of perfumed floral character. The wine is very broad and ripe yet dry on the palate with medium body and some obvious sense of weight and concentration. There are intense and very primary flavors of lemon marmalade, wildhoney, a little bit of mealy cider apple, a hint of mineral bitterness and a touch of lime. The wine is structured and high in acidity, yet the mouthfeel is slightly oily. The finish is taut, dry and steely with intense, concentrated flavors of mineral bitterness, mealy apple, some apple peel, a little bit of lemon and pomelo, a hint of pithy grapefruit and a touch of wildhoney.
  
  A crisp, racy and very powerful Riesling that is extremely taut, primary and painfully youthful at the age of two years. The wine is really impressively structured and concentrated, but offers very little at this point beyond a blitzkrieg of acidity and steely minerality. It doesn't take a master of wine to see the tremendous quality and immense aging potential here. Still, I wouldn't say the wine is in any way worth its price (78€).
