January 5, 2019 - Clean and pure syrah fruit. No evident oak. Not completely harmonious on the finish with slightly too noticable alcohol from time to time. Correct and competent, but feels somewhat boring.

September 8, 2018 - a little stewed fruit but delish once slightly chilled. Stored in the kitchen pantry so not optimal storing conditions. 88-89

January 21, 2018 - Purple garnet, viscosity is medium plus. Nose of wet red forest floor dried blueberry, olive, black pepper, overripe blackberry, dried plum. Palate confirms the nose with some added white pepper, black olive and slight evidence of new oak. Acidity is medium plus, tannins are grippy in a good way.

December 23, 2017 - I think I am rating this higher than most, but its my second bottle and I got the same feeling about this as the first - just great stuff. It's still a modern Syrah, but the balance is very very good, and it's just so good straight out the gate.

October 13, 2017 - Lots of luxurious Syrah markers on the nose with a sweet aroma wafting through the air as we pop and pour. On the palate it is refreshing and structured and with some meat, smoke. licorice and black olives - but mostly it's about ripe fruit all of kinds at this stage: blueberries, blackberries, red berries. I think this will turn out spectacularly well for those who wait a couple of years. Right now almost a little too intense on its own - needs food. Stood up to some chipotle spiced up rib eye tacos we made last night. Day two there's a lovely salinity that comes to the fore: I upped the score as this is an exquisite foreboding of great things to come!
