June 21, 2020 - I differ from most - I like this better than than the ‘98 La Landonne. Fresher, more of a red fruit profile if not as powerful. A sensual, exotic wine. Really draws you in with sneaky length. Ruby color. Nose seduces with red fruits, smoked meat, wood spice and garrigue. Will drink for years but just perfect now. Glorious. (98)

February 2, 2019 - La Tablee: Celebratory Dinner (BYO) (26 Bridge Street, Brooklyn): Really a very young wine. I've heard that these shouldn't be drunk for at least 30 years and this wine would be a good example of that. It's just very very young. Nice and fresh. Lots of black fruits. It's going to be a lovely wine, but it's nowhere near ready yet.

January 12, 2019 - Opened and double decanted. Decanted for 3 hours which was a recommendation of #drinkbordeaux. Pepper, spice. Earth, black fruit.

December 26, 2018 - A less exceptional bottle than recent samples. Plenty of fruit and well balanced, just not as effusive in taste and aroma. Still a wonderful wine. Glad I have more. Decanted for two hours. Needed at least 45 minutes.

December 2, 2018 - Excellent wine, don't get me wrong, but oak is still rearing its head. If you have a couple glasses you acclimate, but with the other Rhones there it stood out to me like too much salt in a dish. Still, quite lovely mouthfeel, nice fruit, very big but still balanced. 92 b/c of the heavy handedness. (The 4 Rhones: Jaboulet CdP 1978; '98 La Turque; '98 Chave Hermitage; '08 Clos des Papes CdP). EWG 10 years on dinner.
