April 26, 2020 - found this at the back of the cellar and wasn't hoping for very much, but it had a screw top so at least no cork issues to worry about. Lots of tannins in the bottle, and as someone mentioned, the film in the screw cap had turned bright red. Opened it and actually had a lovely nose. Not quite D'arenburg but not far off! A bit of alcohol burn, but plenty of eucalyptus and mint, with some fruit still present Long fast legs. Bricked round the edge. Tannins all smoothed out. If you've still got a bottle get it drunk but reading the other reviews, have something as a backup in case it falls flat.

December 30, 2018 - surprisingly, this is still drinkable, but past prime for sure. had a taste will use it to make wine sauce.

October 10, 2013 - I really enjoye this bottle. A heavy red, smooth with great aromatics to compliment the experience.

November 15, 2011 - Aged well. At least as good as the President Select '02.

October 25, 2011 - Surprising acidity for a Shiraz this thick and concentrated. Sweet and spicy blackberry jam, with an underlying meat and blood character. Enticing nose and a decent finish. Odd, but satisfying.

April 13, 2010 - Oldest screwcap I have ever tried, interesting tannin formation around the top of the bottle and screwcap but nowhere else. Was like the film under the screwcap attracted the tannins and sediment from the wine. Very nice wine however.

October 14, 2008 - This came perilously close to a 90, but it really came up short on the finish for some reason - Black, well concentrated with notes of plum, cherry, pepper, spice and vanilla on the nose, nicely structured, but almost port-like, balanced and full but came up a bit short on the length, very nice (89 Points).

October 6, 2008 - Velvety Dark fruits. Minimal tannins. Has rounded out nicely. I don't think I'd hold onto these for too much longer

March 25, 2008 - Smoke, meaty, v rich blackcurrants, treacle, cinnamon and chocolate. Hints of violets and cough medicine. Some menthol notes underneath. Slight wet rubber on the finish. Has come together as a rich and complex wine, if a little over-oaked. Very enjoyable and much better than when I last tasted 2.5yrs ago.
