April 27, 2022 - Consumed over two nights. Mineral driven, even more so on day 1. Slate and wet stone linger for over a minute. Juicy acidity with salty grapefruit, orange peel, lime and overall citrus.

Food friendly, but I preferred as an aperitif so I could fully enjoy the mineral elements.

I would have left this in the cellar for longer but want to reduce my Riesling inventory by a bit. Has plenty of life left.

November 25, 2021 - Popped and poured. Beautiful straw yellow color. Rather mute on the nose but with time hints of flowers, slate, lemons, and plums emerged. Very dense, even hard, on the palate but the power is amazing, all buttressed with plenty of savory acidity and fruit. This is clearly still a baby in its development with plenty of development potential.

October 16, 2021 - My first Donnhoff GG and wow. The nose morphs between honeysuckle, yellow peach, flint, salt, and honey/botrytis. Surprisingly, there’s not much plastic or diesel.

It’s still very young. Each glass was better than the last, so it either needs a 30-60 min decant or another few years of bottle age. I struggle to find dry white wines this complex under $100 outside of Germany.

September 4, 2021 - Similar observations when last visited. Paired with braised pork chops and sauerkraut. While enjoyable; would prefer a little more verve. Fruit expression was solid but overall a little lethargic…..missing the minerality.
