March 22, 2024 - This wine is deep purple in the glass with crimson-to-orange edges. The nose shows medium dark stewed blueberry, charcuterie, and basement.

On the palate the wine is deep and brooding. There's dark blueberry, bing cherry, pepper, and oak. Soft tannins, low acidity, and medium finish.

December 19, 2023 - Beautiful bouquet with red berries and herbs and spices. On the palate the same beautiful and ripe fruits, minerals. chocolate, juicy and medium+ acidity, slightly sticky tannin. Overall a lush and ripe wine in its young maturity stage. 93 - 94

November 20, 2023 - Gorgeous, lush, perfumed Syrah, drinking beautifully right now. Notes of blackberry, cassis, smoked meats, tar, pepper and loads of violets and spring flowers. The tannins are sweet and soft and the texture is oh-so-smooth. Luxurious, velvety and compelling. A delicious, heady Syrah that has really come into its own. It may get marginally better, but its drinking beautifully right now. Pop the cork and enjoy it!

June 16, 2023 - tasted stewed, concerned for light damage from inadvertent exposure of my K Vintners portion of my cellar. Huge bummer…

January 14, 2023 - A bit closed still after a 1 hour decant. Still not showing very much on day 2. Big fruit and quality wine is clearly there but likely needs another 5 years minimum to hit its stride

September 26, 2022 - Dense dark appearance--nearly black in decanter. Initially tastes of earth and tobacco notes. After air, more fruit came forward -- black cherry and blackberry. Hints of black pepper and smoke. Medium acidity and medium- tannins. Characterized by its depth and density while maintaining good balance and beauty. Terrific match with grilled ribeye steaks.

January 29, 2022 - Twin Cities Wine Club Rides Again: Washington State (Edina, MN): Day 1: I brought this as a backup. My Figgins did not show well and this was a great plan B. Cherry, plum, black pepper, dark chocolate and spice. One of the most balance Syrah's from Washington I have had in a while. Should improve on day 2. (Natural cork) 93 points
Day 2: Not as impressive on day 2. Big style with some heat along with smoked meats, blackberries, spices, minerals, scorched earth and dust. Medium plus finish. Lacks acidity. 90 points

October 1, 2021 - A bit wary when I paid 60 upon release some years back, relying solely on the inflated critic scores at the time. But boy, was this a solid all-around effort over its 2 nights drunk; I have it as my 2nd best wine this year, behind a 16 En Chamberlin (96) and tied with an 05 Lillian mag.
Paired with Crockett's ribeye [delivered cold, blech] - which otherwise added the perfect amount of gaminess & fat. To snatch some of ST's rather spot-on review: "dark aromas of black cherry, violet, licorice and spices ... Juicy ... combining good thickness of fruit with an impression of freshness ... Finishes with good energy and tannic grip."

June 12, 2021 - Drank this compared with the 2012 Gramercy Cellars Lagniappe. A great pairing! I gave them equal scores but very different wines. The K Vintner is more robust, big and in your face, but still held together and complex. It is at a good age, and still has more years to go. Deep ruby, with no bricking. Fresh strawberry, cherry and a little tobacco on the nose. Fresh in the mouth, medium mouthfeel. More cherry. Long finish. How does he do all of these wines at a very good QPR and this price point with this quality. Great hedonistic drinking.
