September 9, 2022 - Hedonistic is a great way to describe the wine. Ripe. A little flint. Creamy. Is not flabby, but would benefit from a little more acid.

April 8, 2022 - On the nose - caramelised pineapple, toast, hazelnut, tropical fruit. Still fresh on the palate, medium- bodied, good into a medium finish but perhaps just a little bitterness. Very interesting and certainly not a generic chardonnay but just lacks some complexity and balance.

October 4, 2020 - Clean and bright with fresh crisp apple flavors. Has more depth in the mid-palate than most of even the Lafon Macon wines. These are so enjoyable with a few years on them, but still maintain vigor in the finish.

August 3, 2019 - Paler golden color. Notes of white flowers, some citrus, ripe peach, some sweet spices and also some nice oystershell kind of mineral note. It's medium-full bodied, creamy and pretty rich, but with a nice vein of medium-high acidity cutting through everything. Good length. A really delicious, hedonistic and beautiful Chardonnay that is punching way above its weight-class.

January 9, 2019 - 2018 Burgundy trip: White Burgs at the Bar, Le Bistro de L’Hôtel, Beaune: Pale gold. A bouquet with prominent creamy oak, poached pear, nectarine, almond paste and mandarin. On palate, a rich, opulent 2015-typical white Burgundy. White peach, blanched almonds and cashews, apricots with a creamy, lactic element. Big and bold. However, acceptable acidity. Hedonistic. I don’t expect this Clos du Four to be long-lived. Drink in the next 5-6 years.

February 27, 2018 - Opened this late last night and continued drinking this evening. Nice medium yellow; not especially viscous. Nose has some really nice hints of lemon curd and lemon meringue. Also a touch of cream and some crushed white rock. This is very elegant, ethereal in the mouth, very light-medium body that dances across the palate, but still shows off some good rich fruit that really lasts and lasts on the finish. Flashes class all the way, and I won't be surprised if this gets better and better and more complex as it hits 2020 and beyond. 4-13-16-9: 92/100.

July 5, 2017 - Aroma: reticent nose suggests honey and cognac.
Palate: mid-weight flavors of pit fruit and oak. More complex than the entry level M-M-L but not as crisp or refreshing. Not quite as good value, but may show better with some short term aging.
