March 7, 2022 - Dark stewed fruits with nice finish
April 2, 2021 - Plums, blueberries, blackberries, raspberry, red cherry, green herbs, menthol, flowers, earth, a little meat, and something sweet/savory that smells a bit like halitosis. Sweet plum jam, tart cherry, earth, herbs, blackberries, and a little aged wood on the palate. Nice juicy acidity, still grippy tannins, medium-long finish. Has that great combination of sweet, big fruit and lively acidity to keep it from getting cloying. Fun to drink. Starting to pick up tertiary notes, but still has a lot of life.
July 19, 2017 - Similar to the 3/30/13 bottle.
May 13, 2017 - A bit more licorice in the mouth and a touch heavier on the palate than the 3/30/13 bottle.
January 9, 2016 - Rich, smooth, nice plummy syrah fruit. Not going to get any better.
April 23, 2015 - Well developed and drank quite elegantly. Not particularly obnoxious in any dimension. Garnered a lot of second looks at the tasting but hard to say if that was the quality or the odd and unrecognized label.
March 22, 2015 - Dark, ink-stained cork. Amazing color. Nose of sweet fruit and hints of something meaty. Multi layered flavors, mostly fruit, some earth. In no hurry to go flat anytime soon.
September 21, 2014 - nice aged syrah with dark fruit, menthol and good long finish
July 29, 2013 - Consistent
July 22, 2013 - Another Mike Bottle; this one given to him by Drew Bledsoe. Rich, ripe and admirably concentrated, but it stops just short of over-the-top. Black fruit and violets with roasted meat and tar. Especially good as an after-dinner sipper.
