February 10, 2024 - Firing on all cylinders. Cherry, lime, nutmeg, bark. Completely integrated and chewy. Long finish.
November 1, 2023 - Pretty powerful nose and full body Pinot. Seems to have filled out over last few years.
July 12, 2023 - Another great experience with this vintage. Engaging aromatics, nice medium weight on the palate. This is classy and a great drink. Accolades from prior TN still apply!
April 5, 2023 - Someone on this forum once called a different pinot noir a "pinot for cab lovers" and I think that's applicable here. Pretty big wine, with lots of black cherries and spice. Hits that TRB rich/weightless mark, very smooth if not hugely complex. The Sonoma is always a good value bottling from Rivers Marie.
January 23, 2023 - Bing cherry, cola and cinnamon
November 24, 2022 - Great bottle and was a little more full bodied than I remember the Sonoma Coast being. Could be the more high powered and structured 2015 vintage. I got a lot of cherry, spices, cranberry, and cherry cola notes on the palate. Had a little smokiness in a good way as well. My first bottle of three. Looking forward to trying another soon but no urgency to drink them. Enjoyed with Thanksgiving and everyone at the party loved it.
November 24, 2022 - this countinued to open up over a couple hours open, pleasant, fairly large framed for pinot, 90-ish
April 27, 2022 - Cherry, dark fruit, lots of spice, acidity.
Quite a full bodied pinot at this stage.
March 30, 2022 - Coravin pour
Bright red fruit/raspberry, vanilla, spice, orange peel. Bright acidity.
February 11, 2022 - Opened, poured and let sit 1/2 hr. Then: Maybe a bit of red fruit on the nose; red fruit and some spice on the taste, but nothing really attention grabbing. Medium body; tannins not an issue. At first the finish was a bit warm and lacking fruit, but that changed after 10 min or so and finish was consistent with the red fruit front/middle. Pleasant Cali pinot for the price and maybe that is sufficient. Hard to see this improving, but might hold at this level for a while.
Day 2: Much like Day 1, except a lesser version. No improvement anywhere that I could taste, but still pleasant.
