January 22, 2020 - Fantastic. Classic, old school Bordeaux - the red fruit here feels slightly dusty but still has good intensity and brightness, and it's layered with lots of savoury earthiness and tobacco. It falls away slightly on the finish, but the whole package is superb and a reminder that I need to be a lot more patient with my Bordeaux.

June 22, 2019 - Richter Raritäten Vol.VII (Magnums only) (Farnsburg): Out of a Jeroboam. Hay, red berries, very elegant, juicy and fairly long

May 5, 2019 - Ducru Beaucaillou - 90 year Retrospective (Boston Harbor Hotel): Cedary tobacco, red cherry, black currants, and wild berry notes that build and build. Another example of why Magnum is the ultimate format for aging wine. The 62 really strutted and showed a full throttle cedar, cigar and stone. Exhibited classic ginger spice and black fruit in the finish.

May 5, 2019 - 90 years of Ducru Beaucaillou: How different to the 59 and 55 alongside; an elegant, slightly volatile, raspberry, lipstick, floral nose - so delicate in its way. The 1962 is always a feminine, beautiful Ducru-Beaucaillou and this is no exception - particularly from magnum. No doubt at its apogee now, this should be consumed with joy. From neck fill magnum.

November 3, 2018 - Low fill - upper mid shoulder. Pulled the cork with an ah-so. Decanted.

Red fruit (cherry), cedar, tobacco, graphite, Slight spice, slight cassis on finish. Really enjoyable. Good acidity. Fruit a bit light, elegant, a bit austere. Lingering finish - ~ 60 seconds.
