Community Tasting Notes 2

July 17, 2021 - This is the "Chatenay", I am not aware of any other Chiroubles from Daniel Bouland.
13.5% alcohol. Good long dense cork with no wine penetration. Served at cellar temperature initially for an al fresco meal based around chicken Kiev. Fairly dark colour for Gamay.
The nose has loads of red fruit and a slightly powdery aspect (in a nice way). Refreshing in the mouth with good acidity and lovely mouthfeel; cherries added to the red berries. No obvious trace of carbonic maceration, and in that sense it is one of the more serious Beaujolais, while being very fragrant.
A success without a doubt, and a repeat purchase.
    Super for the occasion.

November 13, 2018 - Those who judge Beaujolais based on the nouveau or villages don’t know what they’ve been missing with the cru offerings. Such personality in a reasonably priced wine.
