August 2, 2022 - PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, deep lemon with no bricking. Nose: Clean, medium- intensity with aromas of pear, grapefruit, melon rind, and steel. Palate: Dry, medium- acid, medium+ body with a pleasant creamy mouth-feel, medium intensity, 13.5% abv, with flavors of grapefruit and melon rind with a mineral - steel - driven backbone and a medium+ finish. Overall a very good wine with great mouth-feel and balance along with good intensity, complexity and length. Near, but not at peak yet, drink now of over next 2-4 years.

December 18, 2021 - Certainly a little more vibrant in terms of acidity and fruit than the '05 consumed next to it, but that is not a hard measure to beat. Still consistent with the '05 in profile, mouthfeel, and length.

November 20, 2021 - Floral nose. Palate is rich and pretty soft, with peach, tangerine, honey and hint of vanilla flavours. Quite long with slightly bitter finish. Interesting but not as complex as expected and didn’t wow - perhaps just a bit too rich for me. Maybe would have been fresher a couple of years ago?

May 31, 2021 - A lovely Condrieu from a great year. Beautiful golden color. Great body - full, but not sappy. Peachy, honeyed nose and long, generous apricot and pear on the palate with great length.

May 30, 2021 - Probably past the prime but nice honeysuckle, apricot preserve, butter. Yellow gold in color and definitely showing tertiary flavors

March 3, 2021 - I love Condrieu and white Rhones. Nutty nose and creamy palate. Fresh stone fruit and peachy peaches. Hint of bitterness and high alcohol in the mid palate but softens for a lovely finish.

January 26, 2021 - Clearly a very polarizing wine! I can understand why some people would find certain elements off-putting, but personally I do not. It's viscous. 5W-30. And it's funky. Some volatile esters there too. Tropical fruit. On the palate it's a beast. Fat, unctuous, mineral-driven, white peach, medium minus acid. The mineral aspect harkens Gruner Veltliner for sure. Finish is pure minerality as well, which I can understand why some would identify that as bitterness. But... I dig it.

January 6, 2021 - Light bodied, modern styling. Wide open nose of sweet white flowers, tropical fruit, almonds, and alcoholic heat. Palate is more subdued bringing underripe stone fruit, oyster shells, green pineapple. Oily mouthfeel. Lacking acidic backbone, quite flabby. Mid-palate through finish is difficult -- grainy, hot, bitter.

One of the more displeasurable wines of my past few hundred bottles, and sticking through for hours didn't prove to be the right choice. Was properly stored, little sign of age.

Edit: worse for air on day 2, dumped remainder.
