October 9, 2023 - This bottle was disappointing, especially under screwcap. Nose dominated but vanilla from American oak and palate mid-week and bone dry with drying tannic finish. Fruit faded. Will try another bottle from another case, but this was only 89-90pts

August 29, 2022 - Always a pleasant surprise - you know you are opening a big Aussie shiraz and are fearful that it will be a fruit bomb and a bit gloopy - but not a bit of it. It is certainly a generous wine but only slightly more than mid weight, this is not a monster. It is also intense and deep. Balance is provided by a robust structure. There are sweet fruitcake and mulled spices, along with pleasing leather notes. Very long and loads of complexity here. Drink now but will last a good while longer.

October 17, 2021 - Very smooth; balanced; still lively fruit , but not much left.

July 10, 2021 - Best one I've had. Beautifully mature and balanced out. Rich and smooth.

August 19, 2020 - Give the old boys a breather and reminisce good times as your GF cooks dinner and your kids run wild. Buy a company, be a legend (in your own imagination) and appreciate history that is unrivalled SA old vine.
