February 26, 2023 - Lots of tannins, but fairly well integrated
February 6, 2022 - Benefitted from a 2 hour decant. On the nose, black fruits with plum, cherry, blackberry, anise, earth and vanilla. Loaded with flavor showing the black fruits, black cherry, black berry, spice, anise, earth. leather. A little cedar show up in the finish. This bottle showed more tannin then previous bottles.
July 16, 2021 - PnP, showing really well now. Very aromatic with black cherry, blackberry, spice, anise, plum, earth and vanilla. Layers of flavor showing black cherry, black berry, spice, anise, earth.leather, and light cedar. Beautiful balance. Good acidity. Long, silky smooth finish. May be the best bottle yet. Still appears the best may be yet to come.
June 24, 2020 - A great match with a marinated steak. Great nose and flavors with black cherry, blackberry, spice, anise, plum and vanilla. Beautiful balance. Good acidity. Long, silky smooth finish. Benefited from a short decant.
April 28, 2020 - Started out a littel closed. Took about an hour to come around, then started to sing. Great nose and flavors with black cherry, blackberry, spice, anise, plum and vanilla. Beautiful balance. Good acidity. The tannins are starting to soften, but are still present in the finish.
October 4, 2019 - As before, rich black fruit and mocha/earth on the medium to long finish. Excellent, but I wish it were a little less expensive...
May 26, 2019 - Opened in the bottle for 2 hours. Cork was soaked through but otherwise everything seemed fine. It came off a little flat on the front but otherwise great. Medium plus bodied with drying tannins. Plums, blackberry, chalky cassis, bitter dark chocolate, and aged leather. Old works meets new. Likely peaking soon.
May 20, 2019 - Black cherry, blackberry, and plum, with notes of vanilla and earth on the medium to long finish. This is already excellent, and it should continue to improve. This was an excellent value at about $60.
December 3, 2018 - Opened a bottle on a Monday evening to pair with braised beef ragu. Excellent but still a bit hot. 93 tonight.
November 22, 2018 - This 375ml bottle was very similar to the previous bottle. And this is just one of my all-time favorite Cabernets. Mike has such a great touch and can do such magic with the grapes from Napa. Love his stuff...
