January 1, 2022 - From magnum on New Years Eve with friends. Decanted for 5 hours then consumed over 2, and served with beef Wellington, dauphinois potatoes and green been almondine. Nose of bramble, red berries and currants. Palette was restrained for at least the first 45 minutes but then opened up with classic LLC flavors of kirsche, a hint of vanilla and some stewed red fruits. Nice long finish but it left me expecting a bit more. Have one left and I think it’ll wait a couple more years.

December 5, 2021 - Dark saturated color. No signs of bricking.
Ripe red currants dominate the nose with forrest floor, leather and licorice root.
Very fresh on the palate. Juicy red currants, layers of spice, dark minerals through the mid-palate and some astringent orange rind on the finish. Beautifully balanced. The bright acidity of a much younger wine. 3 hour decant but really opened up after 4 hours - a meal in a glass.
I have tasting notes on this wine from 9 years ago and it easily has another 9 to evolve. Drinking beautifully now but no need to rush it.

October 22, 2021 - this has gone nowhere since my last bottle in 2018 and has a particularly hollow "middle' to it

October 19, 2021 - Jviz nailed it with his tasting note, this bottle had some VA on opening but then was all about balance, earth and tar, and lots of cedar on the finish. No score as I was drinking this in a social setting, so no formal notes.
