December 22, 2018 - Pure blackberry with a nice savory finish.

December 14, 2018 - HDH Dec auction trip/dinners at SKY and RPM Italian; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018: Very ripe with impressive depth to the fruit here, but also showing a distracting varnishy note on the nose and some reduction. One of those wines that perhaps I'd have enjoyed more with a lot more air, but in a big lineup at lunch I didn't give this a lot of attention.

December 14, 2018 - Wines Tasted at HDH Auction; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018 (Spiaggia - Chicago IL): Rich black berries, borderline jammy with plenty of black pepper. Good weight and length, but not very complex yet.

December 14, 2018 - HDH December auction; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018 (Chicago, IL): Heaps of black fruit, and a slight hint of reduction on the nose. The palate is large-scaled, with heaps of ripe black fruit, and lots and lots of tannin. Obviously very young, there's no sort of modernist polish on this wine. Quite good, even if it's not necessarily the northern Rhone I would reach for.

October 27, 2018 - 2015 Northern Rhones Blind: Single blind. I really liked the distinct pepper in the nose, but the fruit was a bit too confected for my tastes. Rich and powerful, but just a touch too sweet.

Night 2 update: Very consistent on night two. Still sweet and ripe, with the fruit drowning out the wines subtleties. Not bad, just in a sweeter style than I prefer.
