October 24, 2023 - Decanted - initial bitter edges blew off after a half hour or so.
Deep rich black wine...but surprisingly soft tannins

October 17, 2023 - Opaque purple with mullberry, blueberry, white pepper, graphite and licorice aromas with hints of roast coffee and cacao nibs. On the palate it’s full bodied with ample firm tannins and bright acidity. It shows blueberry sauce, ripe mulberry, and licorice flavors with hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and ripe red cherry flavors with an appealing graphite minerality. Long finish. Decant recommended. Glad I’ve got another bottle!

August 11, 2023 - Bedrock syrahs at Bazaar Meat (Chicago, IL): I didn't think I had crossed paths with this wine in the past, but I admit to being surprised how much I liked it tonight. That said, it's not like I'd drink a full bottle of it, but a glass was plenty and quite enjoyable. Dark chocolate and dried cherries, but quite balanced and showing plenty of youthful tannins of course. Sweet from the intensity of fruit but nevertheless quite balanced. Still, this is a style of wine that I don't quite get, though maybe once a year I do want something like this.

March 25, 2023 - Unsurprisingly rigidly tannic, this opened up some after about 24h in the decanter to reveal some lush dark fruits to accompany the stern, graphite-like tannins. Plenty of life left ahead.

December 26, 2022 - a beats of a wine. So dark yet approachable.
