June 23, 2019 - Still drinking fine although it's possible it's on a downward slope. Very minimal tannins but enough structure to hold together the interesting Rhone flavors
June 21, 2019 - DOA
April 13, 2019 - Unbelievable nose. Dark berries, bacon, great acidity. Mushrooms, earth, great core of black fruit. Great now.
April 12, 2019 - Aroma of sour currants and flowers. Tasted red currant, blood iron. Slightly dry. This gets much better after 1 hour of decanting - developed floral and cassis palate with slight tinge of honey. Enjoyable and easy drinking. This should get better with more time.
March 20, 2019 - Auf der Prowein 2019 probiert. Aus der Magnum. Vielleicht war diese Flasche schon seit 1-2 Tagen offen. Was mir ingeschänkt wurde. War, weich und brav. Unter 90 Punkte. Nicht mein Fall, vermutlich zu lange offen oder nicht mein Fall?!
February 10, 2019 - Very earrthy and funky at open, one full hour of decant turned that out and revealed a beautiful Rhone wine full of complexity and style
January 23, 2019 - Delicious. Nice rusty color but great nose even when decanting. Very smooth. Wonderful.
December 30, 2018 - The wine does not need to much air, it is getting old.
December 24, 2018 - I’ve drunk a few from the case I have and they have won me over with age. Drinking well but still plenty left in the locker. Dark fruits, jammy, tobacco, liquorice ..... Christmas in a glass. Lovely. At the price point I think this is reasonable value
November 22, 2018 - On first pop this displays a gorgeous nose of earthy truffle before transitioning to red currant, black olive, and white pepper. Earthy flavors on the palate are supported by soaring acidity and soft, resolving tannins. The 1998 Hermitage La Chapelle is special. Drink through 2025. (Cellar rerelease from winery)
