January 20, 2019 - Another great bottle from the lot. Very soft and velvety, completely tertiary as one taster noted. Hints of earth, cigar box, green forest and balsamic berry. A beauty.

October 23, 2017 - Ripe plum, dominating notes of leather and humidor. Elegant and silky with couple of hours of breath in a glass. Fine StJulien.. still alive. But you have to like old wine with tannins almost resolved.

September 4, 2017 - ellow cabernet fruit, cedar, older leather and tobacco, with hints of embers and early forest floor. Better than my last bottle and about as good as a recent 1983 Gruaud Larose ***1/2

April 20, 2017 - Nose: Nice funky old talbot with dark berries, forrest floor, aged leather, tobacco, animal fur, cracked pepper and nice plummy warmth. Old Talbot takes me back to sitting on the cracked leather seats of my dads 1962 MGA on a warm day. Palate: Enters with a big dose of earth, olive, tobacco and finally some macerated cherry and plum notes pop. Broad in the palate and still carrying some nice ripe fruit. Finish: long and full of tobacco, cigar wrapper, and peppery salami and game meat notes.

(Chateau Talbot St Julien) This wine has a red hue, with a pink-pale orange rim. Beautiful nose, with caramel, spices and coffee. The nose gives a suggestion of a fat richness. On the palate there is spice, liquorice, ink, black fruit and tobacco. What complexity! Soft, smooth finish.
