October 1, 2017 - Tasted alongside the 90 Elio Altare. This wine is marked by its age and clearly past its best days but still enjoyable. Damp cellar, sweaty saddle, fruit in decline, no tannins, hints of oxidation.

October 16, 2013 - Barolo Cru Dinner (La Pentola): Served blind - young and rustic with a touch of VA on the nose. Riper but nothing overdone. Wow this is youthful and was shocked to see this was a 1990. The VA wasn’t off-putting and was so slight it almost added some complexity to the nose. This needs 10 years. Excellent. 91+

October 22, 2009 - Ran's 40th Birthday Extravaganza (Israel): Very ripe prunes and chewing tobacco on the nose. Immense dry tannins and acidity, which were a bit overwhelming at first but were soon followed by a sweet core of fruit compote. Persistent, silky finish. Very good, excellent accompaniment to ox-tail ravioli. Some around the table didn't like this as much, and preferred the Fantino-Conterno Sori Ginestra, but I had a clear preference for this.

February 19, 2009 - An excellent bottle of Barolo. Made in a rather traditional style, with a maturation (two years) in 25-hectolitre barrels of Slavonian oak. Decanted two hours before tasting. Clear ruby red color with some slight bricking on the rim. Expressive Nebbiolo-nose featuring black fruit, cedar, fresh leather and some tones of orange peel. Taste : a beautifully evolved, medium to full-bodied wine, with a good grip and a complex structure. Tannins are still present. Nice, long finish. Great drinking pleasure at present.

Voortreffelijke Barolo-wijn. Behoorlijk lange afdronk. Nu perfect drinkbaar.
