November 18, 2018 - Perfumed on the nose. Deep garnet in the glass, dark cherry profile with dark berries and kisch. Medium, fruit forward finish. Soft and rounded on the palate. Juicy. PnP, no decanting necessary. Enjoyable.

September 29, 2018 - Great cab. Lots and lots of black fruit (berry, cherry) some oak and hint of cassis. Did not know what to expect but liked it. Developed nicely as was decanted. Will hold the other bottle for a bit to see how it develops. If you have it and never tried it like me you will enjoy it.

April 14, 2018 - Previous notes from two months ago apply. I have to admit I’m really loving this wine right now. It’s not as good as some of the SVDs, but dammit if I don’t find this to be a really fine example of a sub-$100 appellation Napa Cab.

So accessible and flavorful, with hauntingly dark and chocolaty nuances. Weight and balance are beautiful, with just enough energy to push all of those unctuous flavors forward through the attack. Fun and chewy (but super silky) tannins make for a wonderful experience through the finish. Not too rich, but certainly an attention-grabbing mouthful. 93-94 points for me. Drink now as a PnP.

I much prefer this 2014 when compared to the wrapped-up and more linear 2015 (at the moment).

February 27, 2018 - Previous notes apply, but I have to say this was a pretty impressive showing considering it is the NV version. Blackberry, black cherry, black raspberry, dark chocolate, dark cassis, espresso, clove, tar, and vanilla bean. This little wine got better and better with a little air (after sampling initially on PnP). It is certainly not the caliber of the SVDs (especially Teucer and BTK), but I’ll be hot damned if I wasn’t enjoying this little vixen with each sip.

Great dark flavors, decent mid-palate depth, and a notable array of complex flavors that carried on through the finish. It didn’t have the elevated concentration and viscosity of the SVDs, but at half the price, I was a fan. 93 points (probably underscoring it by a point just because it is the NV and I can’t get that part out of my head). Regardless, this was a great showing. Drink now and over the next couple of years.
