December 31, 2023 - Still big. Still inky. Still plenty of fruit on the nose with a somewhat acid/herbal finish, as noted by other reviewers. Very tasty.

February 18, 2023 - last minute substitute for a flawed BDX. Completely the opposite in style, but delish

December 5, 2020 - It’s so smooth, big black fruit, cedar, herbal notes, hints of eucalyptus finishes with supple tannins.

January 15, 2020 - The last of my 4 bottles that I purchased from Last Bottle wines. There is so much bottle variation in these. Looking back at my previous notes I rated my 1st bottle 93, the next 2 bottles 87, and now Im giving this a 91.

This is as good as I remember the first bottle. It pours a very dark red. The nose is loaded with concentrated dark fruits, plums, blueberries, and hints of leather. The palate is rich, fruit forward but not over the top. Tannins are still quite present and don't seem to have softened as much. There is quite a lot of acidity in this wine that I think is a bit overpowering. The finish is nice but again a little too much acidity.

Overall these have been very enjoyable, good price point we got from Last Bottle, however there was considerable bottle variation in the group.

February 18, 2019 - Much different bottle of wine this time versus the one I had a few months ago so definitely bottle variation. Really impressive dark color when you first pour it. Full bodied, strong tannins, and overall well made wine.

What I noticed even more this time around is how acidic this wine is. I don't know if it is the tannins that arent resolved, or just the way it was made, but it has a big astringent property to it that I cannot put my finger on. It almost has a "volcanic" soil taste to it, but way too much and over the top. Also I wish it had more flavor, the overwhelming taste was again too acidic. The finish it rather short. We ended up pairing this with home made lasagna and felt that it was a nice combination. I have 1 more bottle of this left, will see how it does.
