November 11, 2021 - I decanted, aromas of dark berries and plums, with a smooth finish. Paired with a NY Steak Sandwich
Cheers
August 16, 2021 - A bit flat with savory elements more prominent than fruit on the palate. This was an early effort of Robert Craig with Diamond Mountain fruit and I remember Robert himself, saying it would take a few vintages to figure out how to make a good Diamond Creek wine.
July 10, 2021 - Medium purple in color. Raspberry and cherry on the palate. Well integrated tannins. Full bodied with a medium finish. Drank this along side a 2006 Constant Cab. This was lighte, thinner and more fruit focused at the expense of some depth and complexity.
August 3, 2020 - Great potential but a bit ragged. May have consumed this too early. Drank side by side with the 2012 Craig Diamond which was better. This showed similar characteristics with the same black and blue fruit and full bodied profile. It just wasn’t as polished and was missing the nicely balanced finish. Great bones though.
June 15, 2020 - Fine dust on the nose with bright red berry fruit dominating. Lots of sour cherry and rose petal aromas accented by vanilla and cocoa powder and some plum. Savory entry with crushed tomatoes and some fresh green herbs. Sage, thyme, garrigue lead into tomato juice and then a range of fleshy red and black fruit. There is a briny minerality to it. Cherry, raspberry, blackberry and plum flavors wreathed with dried savory herbs and flowers. Nicely layered. Best with food.
December 25, 2018 - Decanted for about 45 minutes before starting consumption. Easier drinking than most Craig cabernets with an abundance of fruit for sure (as others have noted). Still very much in balance though.
October 28, 2018 - Lots of fruit. Easy drinking. Delicious right now.
July 15, 2017 - Gorgeous color, lighter than most cabs, but taste is smooth, with less tannin aftertaste. Really liked it.
March 1, 2017 - Had at the tasting room in Napa. Beautiful creamy texture of black cherry and boysenberry fruit, almost like velvet. Great mid-palate, long silky finish, smooth tannins.
