May 26, 2012 - Dusty ruby with lots of browning at the rim. The gorgeous nose soars out of the glass - plums, cherries, sous bois, and a hint of woodsmoke. Incredibly complex. Get a great sense of decaying leaves. Initially the palate seemed a little watery and thin, but with air, the wine fleshed out quite a bit - the last glass 5 hours later was considerably more robust. A glorious mature burgundy that has now moved into decline, but what a decline it is.
