August 30, 2019 - 70’s Bordeaux Blind Tasting: 1st bottle on 3rd flight - Nose of raisins, black fruits, red fruits, spices, herbs. Tasted black fruits, mint leaves, spices, tobacco. This was quite similar to the Margaux 1973 tonight but not as powerful. Nonetheless, top 3 for the night for me. Bravo

    July 1, 2018 - Got a hold of a good bottle.

It's so key to stand these old bottles upright for days before to let the sediment settle to the bottom. So often I read people saying the wine is murky and just know they pulled it sideways from their cellar and just poured everyone a glassful of sediment.

This exhibited a lot of the vegetal pyrazine notes you commonly get in good old Bordeaux. a real joy on the nose. The palate is clean and similarly vegetal with tobacco and saddle elements. The finish was long and this was just a pleasure to get lost in.

December 23, 2013 - Weekly tasting group #100; (very) mature wines (@ DJ): Dirty brown color. In the bouquet roasted peanuts is what comes closest. On the palate Sherry impressions, nuts, tea, coffee and chocolate. Much too old and hardly drinkable.

January 13, 2001 - Christie's Pre-Sale Tasting (Amsterdam): Very light, but a pleasant and rounded drink, better than all that went before today.
