December 17, 2017 - Garnet red with a hint of brown. Christmas spices and mixed fruits on the nose. Pleasant soft red fruits.

December 7, 2017 - I happened to get invited to a industry tasting. This was NOT on the menu. But winemaker Lorenzo Gatteschi saw how much I liked their other offerings, he drug this out from under the table. Oh my. Chianti made in the highlands of Tuscany. I only got a case. Made in the true spirit of Italian Chianti Riservas.

    August 14, 2017 - 500ml carafe from bottle over lunch at Bernardi's.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of warm moist dark earth, sour red cherries, black cherries, licorice, toasty oak. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, high tannins that start smooth but end off chewy, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet black cherries, sour red cherries, dark chocolaty earth, licorice, cinnamon spice. Medium finish.
Good quality Chianti Classico Riserva. Drinking well now already, and will continue to do so over the next 4 years.
