August 11, 2023 - Very Good++ / Excellent. What a wine for $25 USD paid six years ago. Opens with spice, red fruit, a touch of sous bois, but a little burnt rubber, not enough to detract and it fades out with air, alcohol showed just a touch at ~63F, good finish but a bit clipped, oh but with time just so pretty, no doubt this is Burgundy. Savory and some brooding to it. Note says "That's good!"

June 22, 2022 - This bottle needs to be open at least a day to show its best. On the first day it hasn't come together, even with an hour and a half decant. It's got red fruit, the acidity is a bit unbalanced and there is heat on the back end of the palate. On day two it is a spicy, earthy pinot, red fruits, raspberry, a hint of sous bois and baking spices on the nose, cherry and stony mineral notes on the attack, with peppery spices and earthy notes on the midpalate, a gorgeous red cherry and baking spice--cinnamon, nutmeg-- finish. Worth just a taste on day one. It's a knockout on day 2.

February 7, 2022 - A year since the last bottle, and this bottle is quite charming. Wonderful, soft red fruit profile, with a decent amount of concentration, surprising amount of tannic grip still. Underbrush, dried flowers, and a bit of spice (ripe stems?). Not super complex but quite good for its humble status.

November 28, 2021 - Impressive dark raspberry fruit with thorny rose bush/briary scents and some leather/soil inflections beginning to take form. Supple, rounded tannins with a juiciness to the fruit. This is entering a secondary stage with some real Burgundian character for it’s level.

August 28, 2021 - Light to medium-bodied. Aromas of ripe plum. Flavors are plum, some cherry, and a very light metallic/earthy tang. Satiny tannins. Subdued and charming. The fruit, acid, and tannins are nicely balanced.
