March 1, 2020 - Solid everyday Wine.
September 29, 2019 - Needs 30 minutes, and then it is a lovely everyday wine. Very enjoyable!
August 31, 2019 - Quite a buy if you can indeed get it for under ten dollars (mine here in Tokyo was in the 20's). Easy wine of sweet dark fruit, offset with a crucial roasted astringency and also some rich licorice and mocha, all in attractive medium body. But no pushover. Ripe tannin. Delicious drinking, and ain't nothing wrong with it. There is definitely a world in which I have a dozen bottles of this each over a few weeknights over the course of a year. Bravo!
July 28, 2018 - Well structured simple day to day wine - aromas of bkackberries and kirsch cherries, medium tannins, med alcohol level, slight pleasant bitterness, medium length ... perfect for red meat, dishes with deep/rich flavours and a bit of spices/chilli ...
August 6, 2017 - Very dark ruby color; light reduction, roasted red fruit, balsamic nose; tasty, tart plum, balsamic, roasted red fruit palate with good balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (perfect pizza or barbecue wine; 13.5% alcohol; screwcap)
August 1, 2017 - Quite a bruiser of a wine. Has characterful aromas of blackberries, stones, smokey blue fruits hints, earth and spice. Its medium bodied quite four square blocky lightly stoney black fruits palate has got an austere middle with very good freshness. Ends medium, gripping and nicely tannic. Needs carnivore food grilled rare and 90 mins aeration. 13%
May 23, 2017 - No 41, a hint of cork but screw cap, medium acidity, medium+ firm tannin. Nero D'avola.
