October 1, 2023 - Medium goldish. Lovely nose vibrant with oxidative notes that subdue with some aeration. Ripe stone fruit, salty minerality, ripe citrus, a touch of oak, some spice. Quite fresh in the mouth thanks to to the acidity, lovely texture with ample ripe stone fruit, a touch of honey, white pepper and a long finish with minerals and ripe fruit. Great wine at peak. 93-94

June 11, 2023 - Vertical tasting of 2013-2021. The favorite among the group. At first somewhat dumb and dusty but opened up after some time in the glass. Medium+ viscosity, fudge, minerality, oak quite apparent, white pepper, acidity improving over time. In a perfect state now.

September 22, 2021 - Really intriguing flavor profile. Palate begins with mature, mellow, ripe fruit, and transitions to a finish where the profound acidity completely takes over, and lingers. World-class assyrtiko from Santorini, great as an aperitif or with broiled or grilled fish.

December 29, 2020 - Pale yellow colour. On the nose lemon, minerality and subtle fruity notes blend very well with well integrated oak. On the palete same scents with lots of acidity and medium to full body providing a very pleasant feel. At a very good point in time but for sure can age more.

January 23, 2019 - I served this in my wine course. Spicy French oak dominates the nose, and at this point distracts a bit. Behind the wood, orange rind and low pitched salt toffee nose seems very promising. Mouth is well balanced medium weight. A good proportion of acids and bitter on the very long finish which is currently the best feature of the wine. This wine seems really promising for medium term aging and I expect will be outstanding once the oak integrates.

August 20, 2018 - I always want to try an Assyrtiko, as the grape experienced quite a little hype in the international wine trade. A unique nose with lots of herbal, stone fruit, lemon zest notes mixed with cold smoke. More on the secondary aroma side, pushing the fruit behind. On the palate medium to full bodied. Kind of oily in texture, also smoky, herbal, stone components. Opens up a bit more with air. A very good entry into the world of Assyrtiko.

July 31, 2018 - Off a restaurant list in Toronto so way overpriced, but this was just great with the Mediterranean food we had. We got this and a bottle of red and surprisingly even with the meat dishes this had the right heft and structure to it to pair well (we ended up going through multiple bottles of this, just one of the red). It's a bit of the honey and the oak and fuller bodied wine (although not quite as over the top of as a southern rhone). Expressive on its own, but really did nicely with the food. What grows together goes together as the old saying goes.

March 30, 2018 - Smokey, herby nose, quite pungent, some barrel notes as well. Dry full attack, smooth thick mouthfeel and a smokey taste with tangerine, and hints of white peach. Finishes long with quite strong acidity. Difficult to describe, these are not your everyday white wine aroma's. Not very fruity, but fresh and with a lot of character. And some ageing potential as well, I'd say.

October 15, 2017 - Excellent wine: has nice color, not much complexity on the nose, but a clean lime and grapefruit juice driven nose and palate, quite full bodied (leesy, ripe style, some previous trackers notice the oak, which I do not but that, I suspect might add to a more textured wine) but as it is brimming with acidity there's absolutely no risk of going over board. The finish is full of new cut green grass and lemon grass.

This is a great and versatile wine that could be had on a sunny terrace on its own, with some shell fish, but also with heavier fare such as monkfish or chicken in creamy sauce. very good value. I think I slightly prefer the Sigalas Santorini Assyrtiko over this, although both are excellent.
