Community Tasting Notes 4

March 5, 2021 - Earthy notes, tobacco, leather, mushrooms are in the foreground. Dark fruits, cassis, nicely integrated tannins, light acidity that gives the wine freshness. Spicy, short finish. Great wine.

November 18, 2018 - Possibly the most acidic red wine I have ever had. Did this not go through malolactic fermentation?

Begins with a fresh Natty nose, decanted and drunk over the course of 4 hours.

Just an acid bomb, not flawed but made in this way makes it even more unpalatable.

Not worthy of the hype or the tariff.

    April 6, 2018 - 92+/100

Josephine 2013 is predictable enough, with red berries pulp and somewhat barnyardish, medium body, juicy, bright and intensive.

Maybe it lacks great depth - but it’s clean, straightforward and very ripe in the best sense of the word.

I think I drank a case of those in the past year or two, and I keep on ordering them!

    March 30, 2018 - Friday out with 1995 on March 30, 2018 (Big Wine Freaks Moscow): 92/100

Ms. Josephine vintage 2013 is well known to me - open, somewhat plump and succulent, bright, full of laughter and sporty energy, with juicy red berries and herbs. High acidity.

This is a wrong wine to have it at the end of the night, loses out in complexity to older Bordeaux and Radikon, but it would’ve been a good one to start the festivities.
