October 22, 2021 - Beautiful wine. Unfortunately with all company it was served with was kind of lost.
May 17, 2021 - Struck match, toasty on the nose. Stone fruits, flowers, citrus. Quite rich but balanced with minerality. Long. Still unwinding and should improve/ hold for another 3+ years.
November 12, 2020 - here's some stuck match to the aroma along with ripe orchard fruits. It is full and fleshy in the mouth, with excellent depth of flavour. It is lightly buttery in texture and has plenty of underlying minerality. It builds through the palate and finishes with some refreshing grapefruit acidity.
September 3, 2020 - Beautiful expression of Chardonnay. Notes of citrus, apple, and butter. Great acidity.
January 27, 2019 - If a white wine ever required a decant this might be that wine. So so the first hour, but after that it was much better. Darkish yellow color. Buttery nose. Thick wine with some acidity but dominated by butter and cream. Medium finish. Better wines at this price point in my mind.
January 4, 2019 - Decanted for 2 hours. Noted of toasted oak salty toffe notes and pickled citrus fruits
December 15, 2018 - Mavens and Aficionados Burgundy "class" - session three: Chardonnay from various regions (Maple and Ash Chicago, Illinois): Wine #6 at the Mavens third Burgundy class focusing on chardonnay.
Closing the affair with a monopole Le Clos. This one receives 80 % new oak. Pale straw, muted nose, faint oak, nutty, racy, very clean profile.
March 23, 2018 - The nose was rich, showing caramel mixed with citrus, sweet herbs, and roasted nuts. On the palate, it felt flat, showing soft textures with ripe apple and a hints of floral citrus. The finish seemed stunted. It was a little too ripe for me and I’m not sure a sound bottle but others at the tasting didn’t seem to notice.
December 30, 2017 - Beautiful golden hue....pear, green apple, wet stone,
Flavor is lime apricot , sweet Apple back of tongue with a lime zest sides finish... Nice crisp acidity and minerality for the finish..
Delightful wine ...wish it was $10-15 cheaper....
July 31, 2017 - Decadent. Tasted at the domaine, this could hold its own against any non Grand Cru chardonnay I've ever tasted. The nose is a little tight, but there is tension, minerality, stone fruits and apples on the palate. This should last for a decade at least.
