January 13, 2024 - A dark medium red, bright and clear. Very nice nose, red cherry and strawberry, some floral notes. Far less rustic than you think Gigondas would be, this is sleek and quite plush, in a great spot right now but should keep on going for a good long while. I don't see how it age will improve it, I would drink it over the next 1-2 years even it would keep for 10. Lovely.

August 17, 2023 - What a difference a few months makes, this was much calmer - lively and vivacious rather than wild. Perfumed, floral, with a summer red fruit bias and a herbal character. There is still a tannic kick at the end, but blind I would not have guessed that this was Gigondas, nor that it was the same bottle as December 2022. Half remains for day 2, what will this shape-shifter have morphed into by then? Late edit: day 2 much the same, perhaps a bit softer but still delicious and no deterioration.

April 2, 2023 - Crty good: decanted for about an hour. Little bottle age showing. Tight on the nose and palate. Relaxed during the evening. Long and expressive

December 14, 2022 - Deep red. Immediately highly fragrant with deep black fruit aromas – cassis dominates. Really nice, quite herbal, mint and thyme. Initially the alcohol (14.5%) seems quite prominent, but this blows off to leave an extremely tasty glass with sweet ripe fruit and a spicy lick that seems very balanced. But it does require time, a short swirl is not sufficient and the impatient might experience a rather wild and powerful mouthful and be disappointed. I decanted this for three hours, but I think it probably needed five, as only towards the end of the meal did it really come together and hit that sweet spot. High quality wine that is good to go but can easily be held for a lot longer. If you have a case I would recommend opening one. If you only have one I would wait.
