October 28, 2023 - Double decanted for 2 hours, deep ruby, dry raisins with a touch of tobacco, med. tannins, long finish; outstanding, drink or hold

September 13, 2019 - Raisiny, plummy some sort. Spices fruitcake. There is some sort of smell that I can’t place that I really don’t like. Sort of plummy cloves or something dripping sweet and purple. The palate is huge but balanced some spices, sweet, plummy. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15.5/20.

    December 21, 2018 - Winter Solstice Tasting @ JD's home (Groot-Ammers): Winter Solstice tasting.
Very fine- and rare. Such a delicious wine, with dominant Cabernet Franc notes...Would love to try this with more bottle age!

December 21, 2018 - Winter Solstice Tasting (Jan-Dirk Taams' residence, Groot-Ammers, Netherlands): A blend of 40% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, 16.5% ABV. The Cabernets were dried to achieve an Amarone style. Released September 2017. Big and sweet nose, Cabernet Franc leafiness, deep, pure and fascinating; big and rich palate, powerful but also has freshness and tannic grip, structured, coffee, raisins, balanced, still very youthful and energetic; excellent length.
