Community Tasting Notes 10

December 1, 2022 - The 1996 performs beautifully, in harmony and mature balance. Bright and tender textures meet a vital core with just the right amount of a tertiary juice. Dried red berries & flowers, goudron, herbs and mixed potpourri are lifted by a bright energy & autumnal impressions and provide a splendid drinking pleasure. A classic Barbaresco speaking of the potential and mature beauty of its varietal.

October 21, 2022 - During a Barolo/Piedmont tasting lunch, not blind. Overty earthy and funky nose here as well, strict and tannic but in balance. Palate a touch diluted.

October 15, 2022 - This wis in a perfect spot, totally open and ready to go, this is showing beautiful layers of fruit, minerality but also some tertiary notes of dried flowers and forest floor. Medium bodied, with medium-high acidity and medium tannin that is just a touch rougher than the newer wines at this excellent winery, good length. Beautifully balanced and really great to drink now.

March 30, 2019 - Finally developing near 23 years past the vintage, this is still marked by very high acidity, but it at least now has some pretty aromatics. It definitely needs food to soften its stern personality. I would drink soon, lest the remaining fruit dry out, leaving a very harsh shell.

April 13, 2018 - Crichet Paje vertical with jokers, wine #3: inviting and charming nose with anise, vanilla icecream, pipe tobacco, mocca, mint, dried ginger, floral notes and roses. Slim body, silky texture, nice acidity, soft and fine tuned tannins. Gorgeous! BV=2, WV=2
