June 23, 2021 - * Previously Coravin Tapped in April

I love this wine, but for some reason, this one was thin with nice advancement, but a bit flat. It could be the coravin effect. Never had this happen before, but shit does happen. No rating, but its worth sampling another soon to see if I need to pound remaining bottles. Lucky me!

March 5, 2021 - As a red wine, this is a 91, and as a Chianti, probably a 93...Room to improve some with secondary notes. This is always so well balanced and so amazing for the price. A perfect mid week wine to drink while cooking without destroying your palate before a light meal. Drink

November 24, 2020 - Medium garnet wirh brown tones, medium transparent. Nose is earthy, funky boxwood, spicy cigar wrapper, sandalwood, pungent vanilla, cinnamon, savory herbs. Silky mouth feel, flavors stay baking chocolate, vanilla, tomato, blackberry, black cherry, baked yeast, dry pecorino with salinity. Long finish with some heat.

  • Vinnut Likes this wine: 90 points

April 6, 2019 - Deep dark ruby in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & currants with overtones earthy/dusty, orange rind & floral notes, tobacco, herbs, minerals & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & dark currants with spices, herbs, minerals, a touch of oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & airing at present but has some potential for further development with additional aging.

April 1, 2019 - When I crave a bit of Chianti, this is where I need to quench my craving with luscious cherry, wrapped in so much rusticity and old world earth, perfumed with that distinct tobacco pungent bouquet. Long and strong, this is yet another solid vintage for this masterful producer, delivering wines that rock at bargain prices, over and over and over. This is not good, its Grrrrrreat! Drink or HOLD

Full Pull Tuscany [WITH WORKING ORDER LINKS], 4/10/2018

(San Felice Chianti Classico Il Grigio Gran Selezione) Tech UPDATE: It came to our attention yesterday that when we upgraded to a new version of our mailing software over the weekend, it created difficulties with order links in Sunday’s Starside offer and Monday’s San Felice offer for some subset of our list membership. The issue has now been resolved, and at the risk of cluttering your inboxes, I’m going to re-send both of those offers today, so that all of our list members have a chance to place requests before we send out allocations on any of those wines. Apologies for any inconvenience this caused, and thanks for supporting Full Pull, tech snafus and all! ----- Hello friends. The main thrust of today’s offer will be a pair of Chianti Sangioveses from our Tuscan mainstay San Felice; one their entry-level bottling, the other their (arguably) highest expression of Chianti; both well-reviewed, both well-priced. And then at the bottom, we’ll have a bonus rarity from San Felice: a white wine perfect for spring sipping.Barely enough of this beauty to warrant inclusion. Wine Enthusiast: Copyrighted material withheld. Originally offered April 2018. Archive.
