March 23, 2020 - I agree with other recent assessments: it lacks the zip and exuberance that one would have hoped for from a Bourgogne from this stable. For a 2015, this ought to be hitting the drinking window nicely now, but it appears to have lost something and I'm not sure some compensatory complexity will emerge to take its place. It's still a good bottle, but not as good as hoped for.

March 17, 2020 - Red raspberry and cherry nose with some violet floral fragrance. Saline and mineralic stony core showing light elegant red cherry fruits and light herbal and undergrowth tones. Much more reserved and lean compared to the last time I had it. Though the finish is still as delicious as before.

January 23, 2020 - About same as last time - it’s literally uncharming at this point - lacking fruit or seemingly bony. Drinking okay but I want more!

January 22, 2020 - More resolved and savory than the last bottles. Still lovely cherry fruit, dried roses, asian spice and cooler herbal undertones on the nose. On the palate, it has lost its puppy fat. More lean and classically structured, the beautiful fragrant and supple fruit of its youth is faded some. It is elegant, with lovely inner mouth florals, cherry fruit, some Vosne like spice, and cooling herbal undertones, with more complexity than is expected from its Bourgogne status. While this is s terrific Bourgogne still, this had an extra level of textural sap and forward pleasure that I loved in its youth. It was guilty passive pleasure a couple years ago, and what I loved in drinking an AC Bourgogne. It is more serious and reserved now, but lost a little of its joyful youth that made it an extraordinary overachiever. That said, I wish all Bourgogne was this good. Drink up. I am sure it will hold for a while, but why wait.

January 15, 2020 - PnP in Burg glasses and slow ox for 45 minutes before drinking in earnest. Semi translucent red. Perfuse berry & roses aromas. Balanced, weightlessly elegant and lifted. Red raspberry, mineral, earth, kirsch, spice with very good depth at this level. 12% Alc is amazing these days. The Bourgogne level is so much fun to explore and Hudelot-Noellat is always a sure bet! Why did I only buy 3???
