  March 21, 2023 - Drank at Casa Nicholas. Light brown colour yet a very fresh expressive nose of flowers and red fruit and leather. Palate of red fruit, leather and truffle. Lovely balanced acidity keeping this 45 year old wine still fresh. Great balance and length. Lots of sediment so need to decant. Great aged Rioja.

  July 23, 2022 - Unfortunately, cork was failing and the wine (despite being high shoulder) was browner and cloudier than apple cider and totally oxidized. Dumped.

  March 10, 2019 - More toasty and more dried fruits than '81. Menthol freshness on the palate and on the finish. Waxy and honeyed.

I didn't think so, but at the same time there's something rather odd - quite dirty and funky on the nose and while some of the funk blows off with some air, more than a whiff still lingers and distracts from the red fruit and other flavours beneath.

  December 15, 2018 - HDH December auction; 12/13/2018-12/15/2018 (Chicago, IL): I'm not totally sure whether this is corked or not, but it's super funky. Not wholly stripped on the palate, but some interesting fruit and earth tones.
