April 6, 2023 - Nose better than drinking. I like my Chablis dry and crisp. This one a bit too much oak and creaminess for my taste. Drinks a bit like
a high end white California wine.

October 23, 2020 - Cf. the CellarTracker Article link [lower lft] to get specific info for this vintage, including acclaim.

N: Closed; Wafts of butter, but elegantly offset by lemons with notes of minerals

P: Med, poss MF, body; RNDISH entry with considerable "substance" [& whatever exactly that is, I can't call it fruit, per se :( ] met by a BRISK acidity which slowly relaxes its grip as it works its way into & through the quite LONG, balanced, ult pleasant finish, though one HAS to wait out the acidity. Better by itself than with Grilled Tilapia, though the TJ's Mushroom Risotto side paired slightly better™, the lack of frt & the wine's oak I suspect being the problem rather than the high acidity.™™ Might this have been a better match with > flavorful fare, say something Cream Sauce Based? Regardless, a rather austere disappointment vis-a-vis 11/4/17, my only previous taste of it. My VG+, though *poss* EXC- if it, in fact, it's typical of the Jadot style for this bottling? Two other issues for me with this bottle: 1) I'm quite conflicted as to whether this is in decline, or simply in a "phase" & needing > time; 2) My guess is that the ABV is > the 13% on the label.

™While the relatives didn't find it to overwhelm their Grilled Salmon, neither did they find it particularly pleasing. :(

™™With tonight's frequently consumed fare we've had very good to EXCELLENT pairings with Dry Riesling (Alsatian, German, & Australian), Sancerres, whites from Savoie, & aged Hunter Valley Sémillon. So, once again I'm thinking it was the oak & dearth of "frt" rather than acidity that caused this to struggle with the night's relatively simple fare.

October 31, 2019 - Citron confit, des notes terreuses et beurré. Assez atipique comme chablis par sa densité et son côté gras. Une belle longueur en bouche, un super vin!
