August 21, 2021 - FWSG tasting. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red plums, spice box, bit of cigar, emerging leather. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol, grippy high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet dark red plums, ripe red cherries, licorice, leather, sweet spices, cigar. Long structured finish.
Good quality. Nice Brunello and entering a good drinking window. Ripe but not overdone. Enjoy.

September 2, 2019 - Develops an amazing fruitiness after some air while preserving the Brunello character

August 3, 2019 - After some air very nice! I drank the first glass with Coravin and was medium impressed. Now opening the rest of the bottle, this is really good.

January 17, 2017 - Benvenuto Brunello 2017 (NYC): A new wine for me and an unusual Brunello. Red, sweet but acidic berry profile, quite unlike the fat black cherry taste that characterizes many '12 wines. The acidity and a touch of wood and chestnut reminded me of an Scavino Roche dell'Annunziato Barolo. Hint of maderized aromatics, tannic. A controversial pick, but going on a limb here.
