June 9, 2023 - Frais et bien fait. Assez sérieux avec un fruit un peu en retrait des saveurs plus épicées. Très bien.

September 19, 2022 - Entering the primary drinking window. Aromatics leaping from the glass after a 5 hour decant. Gobs of strawberry, cheery, vanilla fruit on the palate transitioning to a lengthy stalky finish. Bodes well for future evolution.

91 pt

July 2, 2022 - This was excellent; the nose showed ripe black cherry, raspberry, floral notes, a hint of minerality. The palate was fresh and simply delicious; great depth and richness, but had great energy as well. This should age effortlessly, but is simply delicious now in a more primary form.

April 25, 2021 - This is my second Beaune wine in the same number of weeks, and my impressions are the same. My advice is: stick to white wine. Smoked dark fruit on nose and palate, pleasant but saying very little. No real depth on the palate (and this is for a 1 cru). The wine is just too light, and without personality.

When it goes down the track of bright-smokey fruit (effectively a cul de sac), Burgundy can't compete with the heavy weights in the Rhone and the more gentler (but nonetheless impressive) wines in Bordeaux.

I have also started to become suspicious of wine labels that contain more than 20 characters in them.

October 14, 2020 - Strawberry, cherry, vanilla; relatively full and substantial, a little tart, a little young, but good and pleasing to drink

July 22, 2020 - Tasted 60 minutes after decanting and notes taken after dinner. The color is light brick red. The nose has herbal notes, dry red fruit (raspberries and cherries) with a whiff of forest floor. The palate has cherries, pencil lead, and mineral tones. Medium- body. The tannins are smooth and balanced with the acid and fruit, with a long finish. An interesting wine. Alcohol 13.5%.

December 6, 2019 - This was lovely. Nose was very floral with a hint of stemmy spice. The body was rather full with nice fine grained tannins. Palate had lots of cranberry and red fruit notes. Finish was long and sappy. We really enjoyed this.

February 14, 2019 - This has a nice nose and is moderately more open than the Ile de Vergelesses, with old-vine concentration and pure fruit. Still fairly one-dimensional with angular tannins, but this should be lovely one day.

January 9, 2017 - Nice fruit on the nose. On the palate not very charming, very grippy and firm. Decent length. A little rustic. 87-88+
