March 13, 2021 - Consistent with earlier tasting note - While still holding up, this is past its prime and starting to diminish from aging and should be consumed in the next year or so, longer only for the more adventurous.
Showing its age as the color had taken on a slight browning on the rim and the fruits were starting to give way to some funkiness and earthy notes.'
"Dark garnet colored, medium full bodied, has a garnet hue with some slight browning at the rim, the black fruits were giving way to aromas of cigar box, leather and herb flavors with hints of cherries and dark chocolate and anise."

March 12, 2021 - Almost flawless from the first sip. The notes of tobacco, chocolate and ripe berries softened by aging. Fantastic after 25 years and yet with potentially more room to mature. Definitely one of the best California Cabernet we have ever tasted

March 1, 2021 - We cannot rule out this was badly kept albeit we have had very few problems with the specific source ( Alex Marton Fine Wines is a key go to for us for US wines in the UK). Good solid bottle no feel of flaws. Brittle cork.

This felt like (similarly to a badly aged modernist Barolo) a wine that is now paying the price for an exuberant youth, the ripeness and extraction and full of fruit of the youth is killing it now in a way. Quite sweet on the palate, rich and ripe but lacked an elegance and balance and showed very little n terms of an earthy side. At best an 89 assuming the bottle was right and very different experience to the last few TNs below

November 21, 2020 - Purchased on release and stored at 57 deg. F and 75% R.H. The ullage was about 0.5 in. What a great wine! I've enjoyed Silver Oak since the early 80's and have never been disappointed. Ruby in color with slight bricking at the edge. The nose was predominately of mint but not in an overpowering way. On the palate the wine was silky smooth. Notes of red and black fruits were present and the mint was subdued with a bright finish.

What a great tribute to Justin Meyer! Those of you who have a well-stored bottle in your cellar are in for a treat. But now is the time to open it.

October 25, 2020 - My 10,000th Tasting Note-seems like a long long time coming, Lots of black berry, black cherry, and allspice on the nose with hints of mocha and licorice, same on the palate, big body, very tasty, mouth filling, elegant Cabernet, at peak drinking, time to enjoy is soon, elegant, rich and delicious, the second day reminded me of a one day old baked cherry pie, rich and syrupy, and a long, long finish and lovely aftertaste.
