May 27, 2023 - I stand by my rating from last week. Good but not as good as 2011.

May 20, 2023 - After drinking ~5 of the 2011 vintage, this was my first 2010 bottle. Took a bit longer to coax out of its shell and had a bit more alcohol than the 2011 as far as I can taste. Still was a delicious bottle of dark cherries with a hint of olive. I probably prefer the 2011 vintage at this point.

May 11, 2023 - I read these other reviews and felt like I was drinking an entirely different wine. This certainly needs a decant and it will improve for 10+ years. But right now it was firm, slightly astringent at first but more approachable after 30 minutes. Tannic, with raspberry and dark berry fruit. Blond tobacco and herbs. Lavender. Camphor. Very pretty. I would appreciate having a few bottles of this to hold for the future.

April 5, 2022 - Funky and primal, dark fruit, a leathery aroma, medium-high tannins and high acidity. This is not a friendly wine at this stage but it is tasty…some grilled meat would probably pair well to offset the fierceness.

January 23, 2021 - For the first few hours this was dominated by some barnyard funk and a hint of cherry, but a few hours in the decanter brought out cleaner notes of dark black cherry, earth, and leather with very fine texture and freshness once decanted. Day 2 it had shut down on the nose but showed very well (and very different) with food, unlocking notes of tobacco, mint, and plum.

Did best with food and lots of air, but just not terribly expressive aromatically. Day 1 it felt old and tired, but day 2 it was quite youthful seeming so I would hold this longer. Better than my last bottle a year ago that never could shake the funk off.
