April 6, 2024 - Pop and pour. Agree with previous reviewer. Deep gold in colour, orange jams, marmalade, with whiffs of burnt butter and Turkish delight / rosewater. Agree it started fading a bit after about an hour. Nice wine, enjoyed this.

April 6, 2024 - Deep gold, caramel-like colour. Deeper than I was expecting for 10years. Complex nose of orange and lime marmalade, creme brulee, rosewater. Good acidity initially though the wine softened a lot over 30-60mins.
Great tonight and probably one to drink sooner rather than later as it seems quite mature already.

April 26, 2023 - Wildman Grand Tour (RPM - Chicago IL): Walkaround tasting. Spiced apricot with candied ginger and some black tea. So much depth, so much here, this is built for the long haul. Many plots harvested over three months with multiple passes and multiple (10+?) fermentations.

April 20, 2023 - Never had this dessert wine before. Refrigerated for two days, kept on ice until 30 minutes before opening. Wine was golden yellow; clear. Nose was a true bouquet of flowers, caramel and tropical fruit. Lighter on the tongue than a Sauternes or Barsac. Stupendous balance and the level of sweetness was something else. A crowd pleaser for those at the table as well as the staff members with whom we shared it.

May 15, 2022 - Dinner with Mervyn and Jerming (Casa Esperanza): Always a lovely wine, especially when it has a smidgen of age on it. This is easily a couple of decades or more away from its peak, but boy was it enjoyable even now. The nose was classic VdC, with white tea, chamomile and honey notes floating like a halo around a core of white peach aromas. Just lovely - a beautiful nose tea-like bouquet. The palate was delicious too. Fresh, crisp, juicy and complex, with flavours of honeysuckle, chamomile and white tea dancing around a subtle core of yellow fruit, All perfectly balanced, round and succulent, with a delicious long finish trailing away with a tiny hint of spice. This to me has always been one of the singular wines of the wine world, and always worth seeking out, especially given how the prices are still fairly manageable.
