July 16, 2023 - Decanted 1/2 hr. Drank over 2 days. Day 2 was about the same as day 1. Consistent tastes of darker fruits.
September 4, 2018 - Dark, Inky purple. Nose of boysenberries, bright red cherries, and some earthy cocoa nibs. On the palate it soft and seamless. Not supremely dense. But soft fine tannins. Definitely ready to go. On the palate there are plenty of very notes along with some dusty charcuterie.
December 13, 2017 - PNP. The aromatics on this wine were divine from the start. Floral notes, really pretty. That toned a bit in the glass and savory, meaty notes emerged. On the palate, the finish is a bit too tart for me. May have uncorked this too soon.
November 23, 2017 - PSM - Golden Road is a powerful wine with an intense body and texture. Very dark in color the wine is showing palpable violet, lilac, and lavender aromas that invite the palate to seek this fine's full flavor of currant and black fruits. The entry is round and juicy and is further enhanced by its velvety soft structured tannins. Drink now or even better cellar as it will only continue to improve.
May 19, 2017 - While its an enjoyable wine, I found it limited in nose, and one dimensional in complexity. Fine with a beef shank stew.
February 23, 2017 - As a longtime closet Deadhead, I love the name, just not sure what to make of the wine. Super peppery, Cote Rotie-like, and for me unidentifiable as Mourvèdre, but I did enjoy it nonetheless.
