April 10, 2020 - As with bottle consumed a year ago: Complex, fascinating zin. Sure, gobs of dark fruit but then some mystery, too--yes, those violets others talk about, but more spice and earth, too. Those non-fruit notes are creeping up as it ages.

August 13, 2017 - ZAP Simply Summer Celebration, nose of black berry, plum, and boysenberry, same on the palate, medium/big body, rich fruit, well made, lovely to taste, slightly sweet, and a long finish.

July 16, 2017 - Wild elderberry, turmeric, kung pao chicken, melted licorice and red spice. So exceptionally long and finely layered, with distinctive attributes. Beams of acidity and fruit continue to flow and the depth is engaging. So much personality. I am glad to see that Mr. Jordan is back to his roots of fine Zinfandel. Drink 2018 - 2028.

May 18, 2017 - Plenty of spice and punch to the aroma. The fruit is all tart cherry and Satsuma plum. With air violets hit the aroma and there's a thread of licorice weaving through the flavour profile and despite the wine's fruit intensity it remains light on its feet. The finish is long and fresh.
