October 2, 2022 - Opened and decanted a few hours ahead of seared fillet off the grill. Dark violet color. Nose brings intense raspberries, dried leather, and some eucalyptus and sweet tobacco. The palate is is full, round, tangy, and textured, bringing a nice mature core of black and red fruit with pronounced savory notes (soy, olive, mushroom, green pepper) on the back palate and lingering baking spices on the refined, tannic finish (cinnamon, cherry cobbler, and vanilla). This is likely at or near peak, so drink 2022 - 2026. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 91.

March 30, 2021 - Nose of black berry, raspberry, saddle leather, and dusty earth, same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, tasty, great Cabernet value as usual, not the best bottle i have enjoyed but worth the $50 auction price, at peak but easily cellar another 7 years, and a long finish, photo uploaded.
