June 9, 2023 - Ripe dark fruit, earthy, rich and silky. Showing very well now. Might be time to drink up.

November 23, 2019 - Four hours in starting to share the kind of generosity I seldom see in Barolo with red fruit notes in the lead. Plenty of acidic backbone which I think is essential for nebbiolo to fully express itself. Have tasted many 2013's, bought more than a few (I think it a great vintage), but like all Barolo vintages the wines are all over the map in terms of early/late drinkability, etc. because the vineyard exposures are actually all over the map. This wine will not be on a top ten list of the vintage, but it won't be far off. A high quality mouthful of nebbiolo, but for now remains a bit on the harsh side.

December 1, 2018 - Perfumed nose, clean nebbiolo aromas of high pitched red fruits, florals, and an earthy undertone. Good acidity, moderate tannin. Not great but for $30 it’s a good introduction to Barolo I suppose. There are better deals for nebbiolo if you look past the appellation name.

February 14, 2018 - Slightly still closed but oh so flavored. Dark berries and charchol mouthfeel. This wine need 3-5 more years minimum.

September 15, 2017 - Aroma: menthol, leather, lavender.
Palate: gorgeous, perfumed cherry and red currant flavors with notes of cedar, tobacco and leather. Silky texture and beautifully integrated tannins. Low to moderate acidity. Excellent.

Day one - all barrique. Day two - barriqueville again. Day three - we have arrived. Super modern, but the Rocche cru manages to fight its way out and rally against all the fruit. Amazing wine, just needs room to breathe.
