September 11, 2023 - PnP. Color is deep ruby with some orange rim. On the nose: mixed berries, vanilla and cola. On the palate: Explosion of mixed berries, cranberry, nice acidity. Length ok. Flavor profile is simple but pleasurable.
April 13, 2022 - Ruby garnet colored with a tinge of oxidization.
Plum and berry nose
Smooth tannins
Flavors of stewed dark fruit but not unpleasant. Good acidity and nice finish
Glad I drank it now.
February 18, 2022 - Picked this up randomly the other day at Total Wine. Being an older Ridge I was intrigued even though the provenance may be suspect. I found this to be flimsy. Decent pizza wine but lacked depth and substance. I haven’t had a Ridge Paso in years. I was expecting something more robust with darker fruits. If all bottles are drinking like this one I suggest to drink up. Slightly better day 2.
December 17, 2021 - Another great wine from Fridge, great fruit with well-rounded acidity. Drinking great right now. As always ridge suggestions of when it will peek was correct.
April 3, 2021 - Drank the 2015 and 2016 side-by-side, and the 15 was the clear winner - it had much more depth, whereas the 16 was brighter cherry.
October 26, 2020 - Pretty middle of the road zin. Solid if not the best value.
October 17, 2020 - Right down the middle Zinfandel. Classic grape jelly, a bit of refinement on opening but not super complex. Definitely BBQ material.
August 31, 2020 - Opened 1.5 hours. Color is deep garnet. On the nose: Loads of red Berries and blackberries with a fair bit of spice .On the palate: Rich blackberries , raspberries and spice with some sour cherry at the very end. I really am a fan of the Ridge Paso Robles Zinfandel as it also has such loads of Lucious berries with a great drinkability. Alcohol level is high but I don’t detect any heat. This is really well made.
July 10, 2020 - 100% zin. Benito dusi ranch. 14.8% abv.
Brilliant burgundy ruby color. Nose juicy, plummy blackberries and raspberries.
Palate: on the PnP, perfect balance of dark fruit, balanced brightness, a bit of an herbal spine and anise. In a great spot right now, especially with grilled ribeyes.
On day 4, after fridge, slightly stewed fruit but still enjoyable
June 6, 2020 - Medium body, smooth finish. Enough sweetness to pair with smoked baby back ribs w Memphis Dust rub & Mango Habanero glaze. Great BBQ wine drinking well.
