December 30, 2023 - Still full of life at age 9. Merlot-Cab Franc blend. Delicious red and prune fruit with a strong licorice/tar undertone, with some complexity. Fairly high acidity.
May 15, 2023 - Looking for a reasonably priced more fruit forward wine that I’d also enjoy off the wine list and this hit the spot quite perfectly. We’ll liked by all my colleagues and generally a well made wine. More forward in style. Has a few years of age but unlike a previous note I don’t think this is going anywhere and for my tastes could improve with time. Just right for what I needed.
January 3, 2023 - Excellent again. Love the blend of merlot with cab franc, petit verdot and malbec. Loads of dark fruits with enough earthiness and spice to give it some depth and keep it interesting. Tannins nicely integrated. Very smooth. Great pairing with beef roast. Wine is in a great spot....drink now-2025.
May 4, 2022 - On the decline. Muted nose. One dimensional. Low acidity
February 14, 2022 - Squarely in it's optimum drinking window. Better than expected.
January 11, 2022 - On the tongue, I initially detected dried fruit--with a little imagination it was almost raisiny without the sweetness, but there was also a contrasting flavor that suggested tangerine. Interesting. Acid and tannin are not "in your face" but provide terrific backbone. Interestingly, everything fades pretty quickly after swallowing.
November 12, 2021 - Excellent. Ready to drink. Smooth, lots of dark fruit. Notes of smoke, herb, mineral. Really nice. Drink now or continue to hold.
October 2, 2021 - The fruit was a little lacking and it was a bit tannic in the end. I think I will wait on the next one to see which one wins out.
September 20, 2021 - Very nice
August 3, 2021 - Soft tannins, plum, elegant, good acid, short finish
